A Bone Mineral Density (BMD) test measures how much calcium and other types of minerals are in an area of your bone. This test helps your healthcare provider detect osteoporosis and predict your risk for bone fractures. BMD services are provided by certified Medical Radiation Technologists.
Ultrasound is a technique that uses sound waves to image targeted areas of the body. These images assist the reporting radiologist to detect tissue abnormalities, rule out or diagnose disease, as well as, follow the growth of a baby inside the womb. Ultrasound exams are performed by certified Sonographers/ Ultrasound Technologists.
X-ray examinations focus on the imaging of abnormalities in the bones, joints, abdomen, chest, spine, face and skull, etc. X-Ray services are provided by certified Medical Radiation Technologists.
